Mornings start early, usually with a gentle knock and a tray of coffee or tea outside your tent flap around 5:30am, timed so you can be on the road as the sky begins to lighten. Animals are most active in this cool early light.
The game drive typically runs two to three hours, weaving along tracks in search of whatever the guide has heard about overnight, before heading back to camp for a full breakfast around 9 or 10am.
Midday is left open. Guests read on their veranda, nap through the heat, or take a dip if the camp has a pool, while lunch is served under shade around 1pm. It's the slowest part of the day, and deliberately so.
As the light softens in the late afternoon, a second drive heads out, often finishing with a sundowner overlooking the plains before returning to camp for dinner, usually a shared table under lanterns, followed by conversation around the fire until the stars take over.
