Packing for a safari camp is less about quantity and more about the right basics. Neutral colors (khaki, olive, tan) work best for game drives, since bright colors and white can stand out to animals and show dust quickly.
Layers matter more than people expect. Mornings on an open vehicle can be cold even in the dry season, while afternoons are warm, so a fleece or light jacket over a t-shirt covers most of the day.
Bring a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, a reusable water bottle and a good sunscreen, along with any personal medication in its original packaging. A small pair of binoculars makes a noticeable difference to how much you see and is easy to forget.
A few smaller items are worth packing that guests often overlook: a headlamp for moving around camp at night, a lightweight rain jacket outside of dry season, and a dry bag or ziplock for your camera on dusty roads.
